Nuflower to pave the way

Nuflower Foods and Nutrition is a leading lipid-based nutrient manufacturer in India and a supplier of Supplementary and therapeutic foods across the globe. We aim to, in the most convenient and affordable manner possible, provide healthy food and nutritional alternatives for the malnourished and those afflicted by structural health & lifestyle ailments. We accomplish this by manufacturing nutritional solutions such as Ready-to-use Therapeutic foods and Ready-To-Use Supplementary foods to treat children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) respectively.
In 2017, wasting continued to threaten the lives of an estimated 50.5 million children under 5 globally million. Around, 16.4 million of which are SAM (Severe acute malnourished) and the rest remains Moderately Acute Malnourished (MAM).  India house a number more than 9 million of the SAM children as per UNICEF estimates. This needs a serious intervention considering the SAM children in India are majorly form the socially and economically challenged background. The Treatment of SAM and MAM could be done with a facility-based approach and Community-based approach, considering the number of SAM & MAM children are very high the facility-based approach has some restrictions. Community-based treatment called Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) is the widely accepted approach. In the least complex words, CMAM approach is practised at the community level and at home with the help of community workers. The uncomplicated SAM children are provided energy-dense nutritional paste apart from their regular meals to fill in the gaps of nutrition. These pastes are energy-dense peanut-based pastesuited for a recovery of SAM children.
Currently, we make peanut-based therapeutic pastes and supplementary pastes for severely and moderately acute malnourished children. Our products are designed to meet the specifications mandated by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Such specifications have gained credibility through their use, in decades of treatment of malnutrition in Asian and African countries, by UNICEF, World Food Programme (WFP) and similar organisations.
We have a UNICEF Supply Division GMP-accredited manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana (India)- which can cater to more than 2,50,000 acutely malnourished children every year with a capacity of 5400 MT per annum. We are assisting private and public health programs with nutritional requirements in India and abroad.
